Friday, August 7, 2009 - The U.S. Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) today posted monthly full-time and part-time employment numbers by airline on its website. The < http://www.bts.gov/airline_employment/src/index.xml> new web page allows the user to search for full-time and part-time employment by carrier for any month beginning with January 1990. Monthly full-time and part-time employment numbers are reported by airlines that operate at least one aircraft with the capacity to carry combined passengers, cargo and fuel of 18,000 pounds the payload factor. These numbers are the basis for the calculations used for the < http://www.bts.gov/press_releases/passenger_airline_employment.html > BTS monthly scheduled passenger airline employment press releases.
