Summary: The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound), in cooperation with the Czech Presidency, organised a conference addressing the theme of working conditions and social dialogue in Prague on 22­23 June 2009. The conference aimed to present the findings of a report from Eurofound, and good practice at company level. The report tries to establish whether there is a link between working conditions and social dialogue and if workers covered by social dialogue have better working conditions.

Summary: The report explores the theme of working conditions and social dialogue in an effort to deepen existing findings and to present further evidence on how social dialogue has been used in improving working conditions. The findings are based on research conducted between July 2008 and May 2009, with a particular focus on the experiences of six EU Member States ­ Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Spain and Sweden.
